CHAPTER 1

Her alluring blue eyes, the crop top she wore, and the smile she gave him enticed Peter to get in conversation with her as she wrote. Few hours later, he stood under the blue sky, outside the old coffee shop saving her phone number on his phone.

“So, I’ll see you here tomorrow then?” Peter uttered as he typed the name Lia into his contacts and saved it. He knew of the name Lia but unable to recollect his memory, he smiled.

“I shall see you here tomorrow at noon, maybe have another conversation like today and see where it takes us.”

“Why not see where it takes us today?” He asked.

Blood flowed to her cheeks, her mouth opened wide and uttered “I wish, but I have to meet a college friend of mine but we shall see tomorrow.” She embraced him, got into her car and left.

Peter waved, began to smile and picture her in bed with him. She’s filled with so many things he hadn’t seen before. Her lips crimson and seductive, he wished he would have gotten a bit of her at that moment. The conversation they had, beautiful as well, he might have fallen in love.

“Cheat!” He heard.

He looked around him to see who had uttered such words but saw no one so he walked back into the coffee shop, grabbed his laptop and walked out.

“Cheat,” He heard again, “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” He looked up to the sky, “She was none like I’ve met before,” He said, picturing her lips once again.

“Cheat,” uttered again in his mind as he got into his car and drove home.

Upon arriving home, a similar car to which he had seen at the coffee shop is parked next to his driveway, and coming out of the house as he pulled in was his wife and Lia.

“Oh Fuck,” He thought pulling in.

“Hi love,” his wife said.

“Hi baby,” embracing his wife as he stared at the smiling face of Lia. She winked at him and in his memory, a recent meeting with Lia at his wedding five years ago he saw. She had made a move on him at his wedding but he uttered none of this to his wife.

“This is my best friend Lia, She was the bridesmaid at the wedding but left town right after.”

“I see.”

Peter after embracing his wife, put out his hands to Lia and smiled, “Lovely to meet you again Lia,” He uttered, “What brings you to town now?”

“Adventure,” Lia said. Her crimson lips stood out as he stared at them while blood flowed down to his legs. “I shall go now, will see you guys when I see you.”

Peter and his wife waved as she left and walked into the house. “What do you want for dinner?” Neva said.

“Lia,” He thought, “Anything is fine my love,” He said.

CHAPTER 2

They lay in bed that night after making love though all Peter could think about was Lia. Her lips on his that day five years ago in the men’s bathroom he reminisced about.

“Why didn’t I tell Neva that?” He thought. “Why didn’t I tell her that her best friend made a move on me but I walked away.”

He closed his eyes and saw Lia in the pink dress that revealed a little bit of her breast. They had met for the first time that morning because she missed the rehearsal the night before, “So sorry I missed it last night Nev, My flight was delayed but here I am,” She said as she embraced her best friend right before the ceremony.

“And you mister,” She exclaimed, “You are a lucky man!” She walked and embraced him. Later that night during the reception, she grabbed him, “I need to talk to your man and give him the rules outside,” She said as walked him outside towards the barn’s bathroom.

She locked the door behind them, “so what do you think?” She asked as she pulled her dress down towards her waist.

“She’s spoken so highly of you Peter, and from what I can see, she’s right! My only question however is why can’t we both have you? She doesn’t need to know and you don’t need to tell her. My husband doesn’t need to know and I won’t tell him.”

Instead of pushing her out of the doorway, the golden peaches laid perfect on Lia’s chest enticed him so he asked “is this a test?” He continued to look at her chest, “Why would they test me? She’s married as well!” He thought.

She laughed and pulled him towards her locking her lips with him. Lia felt his erection but as she reached to grab it, he pulled away, “I won’t tell Neva about this but don’t you do this again!”

“Peter,” she said moving out of his way.

He stared at her chest again, he wanted it, he wanted to grab it and make it his, but he ignored her and said, “I won’t tell her so don’t do it again!”

“FUCK,” Peter screamed in bed waking Neva up.

“Are you okay?” She asked, embracing him with her warmth.

“Just a bad dream,” He uttered, closing his eyes, “I don’t want to cheat,” He thought as he fell asleep.

CHAPTER 3

Maybe he doesn’t want to cheat but his heart yearns for her. Peter woke up to the thoughts of seeing Lia at the coffee shop - he had vowed on his wedding day to see his marriage through all that there will be, and to be loyal no matter the temptations. He brought his warmth closer to Neva’s naked body, kissing her neck as she turns her body towards him.

“Good Morning love,” She grabbed his face and gave it a kiss.

Peter smiled, “Good morning love.”

“It’s too early so I’ll sleep in today baby.”

Peter smiled as she shut her eye. He got out of bed, stared for a second at her and walked out of the room into the kitchen. He pounced to the fridge, opening it up to grab a cup of water and sighed.

He walked towards his office after drinking the cup of water. On his desk, a couple books rest next to his phone. He grabbed his phone and began to scroll through the pictures Lia had posted on Instagram since the last time they met.

Seductive as many of the pictures have her in short dresses, half naked, shorts so he sighed yet smiled.

“What have you got to lose? She wants nothing but sex with you and Neva won’t find out. You know Neva won’t find out because if she does, Lia’s husband will find out,” He heard. He slammed his palm on his forehead, sighing for he knows it is true. There is absolutely no way they would know.

“But you are putting a lot of thoughts into this Peter. Just make your decision and stop thinking!” He heard again. “Fuck,” He thought, “Fuck!” He laid the phone on the desk and shut his eyes as Lia’s face popped through his soul and mind.

He opened his eyes to his wife call “Oh Neva,” he said.

“What do you want for breakfast?” She popped into his office wearing grey shorts and a white shirt. His mind shifted to the image he had seen on Lia’s page so he smiled, lighting up Neva’s face.

“Eggs should be fine,” he said, “Thank you!”

“Some eggs coming up!” She walked away from him.

He thought of Lia again so he reached for his phone, “Why am I thinking?” He asked himself.

He sent a message to Lia, and few minutes later, his phone vibrated. On the screen can be seen smiley faces with love on the cheeks. He swiped through his phone and deleted the messages as well as his search history on Instagram.

After Breakfast, Neva sat on the couch reading The Thin Man. She focused her attention to it while she took small bites of an apple.

“Okay Love, off to do some work!”

“Don’t forget to choose different shops sometimes.”

He smiled, gave her a kiss, “I shall do that, will keep my eyes fresh that way.”

CHAPTER 4

To continue this part of the story, I asked a young lady at the coffee shop to tell me how things went. Though you might be asking me “How come?” Well, I thought she could start us off with what she saw.

The young lady said the name “Lia,” and so we begin:

“She was wearing red lipstick, had her blonde hair with little bits of red pulled up and tied in a ponytail. She smiled at me and said thank you as she took her coffee. She went back to her seat. It was by the window. Her long legs were touching the floor despite the tallness of the chair. I loved her outfit. She was wearing a cute red top (cropped) and a black jacket. Her bottom was simple, just jeans. Sexy. On her table was a brown Micheal Kors handbag or purse, whatever you call it. I focused on work right after she sat. Few minutes later, ‘Hello,’ I said to a man that walked in.

He walked towards her. I could tell they were friends. He was wearing jeans and a white T-Shirt. She smiled at him, and he smiled at her. I couldn’t hear much of the conversation. After talking for a bit, they got out their laptops and did stuff on them for a bit. Three or so hours had passed so they got up, smiled at each other and left the shop.

That’s all I can tell you.”

What Sarah couldn’t hear, the reader can get from me.

As he walked closer to the Table, he noticed her ponytail and smiled. He had always liked that in Neva. He noticed the cropped top as well, revealing a few things like her inner belly button. He reminisced about the day he saw more than the belly button.

“Hey,” He sat, “looks like you’re here to do some work as well.

She grabbed her coffee from the table, and sipped it, “Neva knows you’re here?”

“She knows I prefer to work at a coffee shop,” He dropped his backpack from his shoulder and took out a laptop.

“So then we just met then, coincidence, am I right?”

“Right!”

They stared into each other’s eyes. He looked into her blue eyes and saw something he yearned for. He tapped the table as he felt the urge to feel the warmth of her face. She stared into his eyes, beautiful green eyes she wanted for herself when Neva mentioned she had met the man she’ll marry.

She thought of that day when she walked into the half-naked Neva dancing while she cleaned.

“Hey bestie,” Lia said.

Neva looked at her best friend and jumped at her.

“Just a shirt on today? What’s going on? I could have brought a guy in.”

Neva stepped back, breathed for a second and took Lia by the hand, walked her to the couch, sat her down and said “I met this guy today,” She held her phone up to Lia and showed Instagram photos of the graphic designer.

“He goes here?” Neva said, grabbing the phone and swiping on the photos. He posts only after completing a job he said.

“Oh no, he graduated last year but now works at Monroe Marketing at home!”

“No way!” She looked at him again, “Rich, Handsome, Private in his way,” She thought.

“Yes, way. We met at the store today while I was grabbing our food.”

Lia smiled, “So if I had gone instead, it would have been me?” She thought.

She gave Neva a hug, “Happy for you bestie.”

Neva kissed Lia on the cheeks, smiled and went to the kitchen to prepare the food.

“Could this work?” Lia asked Peter.

“Could what work?”

“Us?”

Peter gulped, “she asked first,” he thought.

He looked around him, the only eyes that were laid on him were of the counter girl whom he smiled at, “We won’t know till we try.”

They smiled at each other, signaling that they were ready to test the waters, hoping they wouldn’t be caught. “Let’s finish work, then we can head out of here!” Lia said.

CHAPTER 5

“And so they left 3-4 hours later,” resumed Sarah. “I’m pretty sure what’s coming their way isn’t anything good.”

Peter and Lia focused on work before they left though their minds from time to time slipped. They would stare at each other for a few seconds while smiling.

After they were done with work, Lia with her writing and Peter with his Designs, “Motel 7?” Peter asked.

“Yeah, I’d love that.”

They packed up their things and walked outside the coffee shop. They get into their cars and drive about 30 mins towards Motel 7. In their heads, they thought of each other while their hearts raced. Peter kept the steering wheel firm in his hands, “Not once had I thought I’d be doing this,” He thought. “But I can’t think too much!”

Lia continued her drive behind Peter, “Neva, Micheal,” she thought. She kept her eyes on the road thinking of the early days she yearned for Peter. Now she could get him close and see where this takes them.

They pulled into Motel 7 and parked behind the building. Grabbing her hand as soon as she got out of her car, Peter pulled Lia in for a kiss, “we’re not in too deep yet,” he said as he looked into her eyes. She bit her lips, and looked into his eyes, “I have a feeling this will never work,” She sighed.

Lia smiled looking at his lips, “But we never know until we try,” she grabbed his head, hearing her heartbeat as well as his, she reached for his lips and kissed him. The minty tongue of his she tasted, “We never know until we try.”

They checked into a hotel where they went in too deep.

3 YEARS LATER

“Did you guys have sex last night?” Lia stared at Peter’s chest. A red mark she noticed right below his neck. She kept her arms crossed and tapped her feet.

“What about you?” Peter moved his chair closer to her. He looked at her breast through the white shirt she chose to wear today “Did you guys have sex last night?” he winked. In this same coffee shop, they looked into each other’s eyes filled with fire in their bellies. In front of them laid their computers, their cover in case one of their spouses walked in.

“You know damn well I have to have sex with him so he doesn’t figure out what’s been going on for the past 3 years.”

“So why are you asking me these questions? You can have sex with him but I can’t with Neva?”

They sighed. It’s been three years since they went too deep. Their love for each other has grown.

“Another thing we have to do is stop meeting here. She’s starting to notice.”

“Fucking hell Peter, why can’t we just divorce them?” Lia’s feet continued to tap on the wooden floor. She closes her laptop and puts it in her purse, “Fuck, Neva is walking in, she just got out of her car,” She uttered.

“Okay,” Peter said, taking his phone out, “You grab your laptop out of your purse now and start doing some work.”

“Okay!”

#6

The door opened, “Welcome to Amour, we’ll be ready for you whenever you are,” the young lady Sarah said. She has been tasked once again to give a summary of what happened at the shop.

“Well, she walked in with a box in her hands, I’m guessing lunch for someone. We do allow that after all. She wore a white crop top with the words ‘Life’ written. Her pants were short blue jeans. She looked at me and smiled before scanning the room to find those guys sitting pretty much next to each other. Her face wasn’t happy - I could tell because her smile when she walked in turned into a frown. She walked closer to them while their heads were bowed to their computers, “‘Lia,” She exclaimed, “What are you doing here?”

The lady and the man looked up at her. She got up and exclaimed “Neva, How are you?” She asked.

Neva sat down next to her husband and leaned in to kiss him. The other lady Lia looked away to stare at me. She kept staring, she knew I knew something I shouldn’t and gave a fake smile. After the kiss, Lia looked back at the man she was with and Neva. They talked for a bit, then after a while, Neva walked out with the man following behind. The lady sat down for a bit and stared out the window. She watched people walk back and forth but what went through her head I know nothing about. As she got up to walk out the door, I saw the tears curling around her eyes. “Thank you, see you next time,” I said. She looked at me and walked out the door.”

NHAPTER 7

She opened the door to her car and sat. Tears began to circle her eyes so she closed them. She saw Peter in bed with her, where they warmed each other up a few days ago. “Peter,” She said.

He glanced down at her, immediately giving her a kiss on her forehead.

“Yeah?” he smiled, “Is it time for us to go already?” He asked as he reached for the phone inside the drawers but she pulled him back and embraced him. “For some reason Peter, I really do not want us to leave each other today or any day for that matter.”

The embrace felt warm. He smiled. “Same here.”

“I’ll break things up with Micheal,” She uttered. “We’ve been doing this for too long now that I don’t think I can continue doing things with him. I feel out of place, and gross when he sleeps with me. Part of me wants to get caught so we don’t have to always hide anymore.”

She sighed and let go of his body then began to walk over to her purse where she grabbed her phone and a few accessories, “How long has it been now?” She heard.

She looked back at him, and smiled, “for me, since the day Neva talked about you. Since the day I saw your picture. ” She thought. “Why?” She asked.

“It’s been a long time now and we’re still at it.”

“You haven’t been counting?”

“Have you?”

“Just a little bit. We’ll have been doing this for three years now, meeting at these hotels, unable to see each other in public.”

Peter sighed, and pulled her closer to him, “What do you suggest we do then? I’d rather us do this than not do anything together at all. Those were your words long ago Lia.”

“And that’s still true Peter, but a part of me wishes we get caught, wishes I could have you all to myself.” she thought.

“FUCK!!” She screamed, opening up her eyes. A few seconds later, she started the engine and began to drive.

“Why has he done this to me?” She thought. “The very fact that she’s able to walk into Amour, kiss him in front of me and smile pisses me off! Why are we still doing this at this point, Peter?”

She focused on her drive while her screams continued, “FUCK PETER! WHY PETER! NEVA WHY!” She repeated till she drove into her garage. She walked into her house and ran up the stairs. “We could have come back here to relax if she didn’t come by, and I would have told you that I ended things with Micheal!” She opened the door to her room, “That he left!” she noticed everything of Michael’s gone and sat on the bed. For a few minutes, silence fell. She sighed and sighed over again, wiping her tears as they came, and at last, she spoke, “Why have you gotten her pregnant Peter? Why have you done this to me?”
