We stared at each other - and she smiled. Because she smiled, I found myself here in front of a dead body. I shouldn’t have fallen for her smile. I shouldn’t have chased my lustful desire.

“What are you going to do now?” I asked.

I’m sure I’m next so I await her words.

“What do you mean? She asked. “I’ll just make him look pretty and bury him or burn him.”

I nod my head. Why am I here? I began to think. I should have never followed her. I should have walked in the other direction. But her white midi dress, the white handbag, the white stanley glass cup were alluring. She looked great. I stare at her now and see the dress, the handbag, the cup covered by the man’s blood. And you’re probably wondering who the man was. I don’t know. Like I said, I walked into the building - following her and the next thing I saw was the smashing of the man’s head with a crowbar.

… You think I’m an accomplice don’t you? Damn it.

“Help me drag his body that way?” She pointed to the fireplace.

… You must think I’m an accomplice surely now.

I grabbed his feet, while she grabbed his shoulders and moved him.

“Thank you! I’m Cynthia,” She jumped with a spring on her feet. Her ponytails dangled and blood rushed to my balls. “You?” she added.

I gasped. I’m an accomplice. I followed my selfish desires and it led me to a murderer.

She stared, waited for a response. Unable to say anything but stare at the body, I watched as she walked towards me with the crowbar.

“You’re scared aren’t you?” She asked.

No shit, I thought. But my mouth stayed shut. Any words I utter will make you think I’m with her. She lifted the crowbar, looked at the blood and my stomach began to turn inside out.

“Fuck! It’s John” I hurled.

She stepped a few meters away from me.

“Well, that’s gross. But I’m glad you followed me John,” She smiled. “Didn’t think you would.”

Well, I just told you my name. I promise that I am not an accomplice. Like she said, I followed her in here like a stupid dog that fell for treats. Now I have to play along or die. What should I choose? God, why have I done this to myself?

“Look,” I began. “I followed you from the grocery store because you had a beautiful smile and I wanted you. I didn’t know I’d be in this situation.”

“John, thank you,” She dropped the crowbar. “I wanted you to follow and I’m glad you did.”

She walked away from me and focused on the body that laid near the fireplace.

“This man was my assignment.”

“As in?”

“As in, my bosses told me to kill him.”

“I see, you’re a hired killer.”

“Now we’re getting somewhere.”

“Yay,” I look around me and find no escape.

She sat on the floor, and signaled for me to sit down as well.

“You’re handsome John. You’ve watched me kill a man - so why not be with me and let your selfish desires take you over.”

And now, you know that I’ll be an accomplice. Fuck! I only wanted her, not to be tangled but to have sex and leave. Now look at me - Yay!

MANY MONTHS LATER

It’s not that I’m scared. I’m not. She’s just a tiny bit crazy!!
I mean should I expect something grim? Maybe. Actually yes! I do expect something crazy! Something grim because we met in such manner.

I paused. I look at where I’m at. In front of an old friend that loves me. A friend she knows nothing about. A friend that could die - that is if she were to smile at me in a flirty way.

“Will you break up with her then?”

I’m brought back to reality with these words she spoke.

“We can’t keep doing this if you have to go home to lay with her in bed.”

I sighed. Held my hands to my face. I’m sure she’s off on a mission somewhere.

“Well, we could just do that now,” I heard.

I looked up and saw my beautiful, wonderful, not so scary girlfriend. How long she had been standing over us I could not tell you - but she’s here. Yay me! My lustful heart brought me to her and my love for someone else might take me to the grave.

She sat down next to Lydia who moved to the right - towards the window.

Ah, glad we’re at a restaurant.
The whole place began to dim. Maybe it’s my eyes realizing it’s time to shut forever. Maybe. But we have some peace here with people round us to call for help if she decides to kill us. We can’t leave this place with her.

The bull right above them smile at me - it sings to me the following words: “You’re such a bull. they want you.”

I smiled - “What brought you here?”

“Well, my dear John - I figured you’d get tired of me so after I found out you’ve been cheating, I talked to Lydia here to bring you out on a date.”

I closed my heart and my eyes. I could feel my body shut down.
I am dead - I know of this truth - there’s no way I’m alive after tonight.

They’ll kill me and decorate their walls with my intestines like they did the bull’s head.

“Okay, so you found out. Now what?”

“Are you serious?” She leaned forward and I took a glance at the breasts that brought me towards my imminent death. I should have left those breasts for Lydia’s in the first place.

“I didn’t want to be with someone that kills people for a living,” I whispered.

“Then you should have said so in the beginning.”

“What!” I slammed my hands on the table, “You would have butchered me like you did that guy. What would you do if you were in my shoes?”

“I wouldn’t have killed you and you know that.”

Fuck - should I be making her mad?
I stated into those dark eyes. Lydia sat. She, from time to time sipped her drink. What does she know that I don’t? I haven’t even had sex with her yet.

“I haven’t had sex with her yet,” I uttered.

Her eyes got darker and my heart shrinked deeper into my stomach.

“What’ll happen to me?”

“You already know. Have fun with Lydia and be home in 7 minutes.” She stood up and left.

I stared at Lydia, “What did she say to you?”

“She said she’ll let me live if I brought you here.”

“Fuck!” I yelled, stood and left. “I thought she loved me.”

_______
The End.
